Translations
Between 2011-2014, I produced a series of translations related to my research interests. While doing my undergraduate thesis research, I gained access for the first time to an extensive library of archaeological publications written in Persian-Farsi. Ultimately, I cited many of these pieces in my dissertation. These translations are part of my commitment to strengthening ties between the archaeological communities of Iran and the Anglophone world. In the future, I plan to resume this project and to begin writing my own work in Farsi.
Recently Updated
A collection of short stories and poetry written ca. 1940-1980 in which archaeologists figure prominently. This chapbook includes The Archaeologist by Fereydun Tavallali, Abu Nasr’s Throne by Sadeq Hedayat, and The Historic Tower by Khosrow Shahani. Only the latter of the four pieces has been translated previously into English.
For now, I am circulating a self-produced draft of this text, but would like to explore possibilities for publishing it in some more durable format as a zine or bound chapbook. I do not need institutional validation for this work beyond a CC license and I do not intend to print it in a commercial capacity.
